(30445) Stirling is an asteroid of the main belt , which from on 5 July 2000 Italian-American astronomer Paul G. Comba at the observatory Prescott ( IAU code 684) in Arizona was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the Scottish mathematician James Stirling (1692-1770), who was elected a member of the Royal Society in 1727 and who set up the Stirling formula named after him for calculating large faculties .
