(33434) Scottmanley is a main belt asteroid that was discovered on March 17, 1999 as part of the OCA-DLR Asteroid Survey . The asteroid is approximately 4.6 kilometers in diameter and is a member of the Koronis family , a large group of asteroids named from (158) Koronis .

(33434) Scottmanley was born on May 18, 2019 after the Scottish Space - Youtuber and astrophysicist named Scott Manley (born 1972). Manley is known in the art for his visualizations of the discovery chronology of the main belt asteroids. He attributed the designation of (33434) Scottmanley to this work.
