(342842) 2008 YB 3 is a planetoid that was discovered on December 18, 2008 as part of the Siding Spring Survey project and belongs to the group of centaurs . The asteroid orbit the sun in a moderately eccentric orbit in almost 40 years . The orbital eccentricity of its orbit is 0.44, whereby it is inclined 105 ° to the ecliptic , so that it has a retrograde orbit.
It is believed that the great retrograde centaur (342842) 2008 YB 3 as well as the two centaurs (468861) 2013 LU 28 and 2011 MM 4 are visitors from the Oort cloud .
