location

The Löbbenkopf are located in the eastern center of the Venediger Group in the east of the Gschlößkamm and in the north of Matrei in East Tyrol . Located in the core zone of the Hohe Tauern National Park , the Löbbenkopf is located on the northeast ridge of the Kristallwand ( 3310  m above sea level ), which continues to the northeast to the Löbbentörl ( 2770  m above sea level ) and the Inner Knorrkogel ( 2882  m above sea level). ) runs. In the north is the Schlatenkees , in the south the Kristallwandkees extends . The Löbbenbach rises to the southeast of the Löbbenkopf , to the east is the Zedlacher Ochsenalm. The closest refuges are the Badener Hütte in the south and the Alte Prager Hütte in the north.

Promotion opportunities

The easiest ascent to the Löbbenkopf starts at the Löbbentörl, which can be reached from the north from the Alte Prager Hütte or from the south from the Badener Hütte. In addition, the Wildenkogelweg leads from the Tauern valley ( Tauer village ) to the Löbbentörl. The Löbbenkopf can be reached from the Löbbentörl via the southwest flank, whereby the path south under the Löbbentörl leads over rubble and crags to the summit (not difficult ). The ascent on the northeast ridge is more difficult directly from the Löbbentörl ( II ).
