(4042) Okhotsk is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 15 January 1989 by the Japanese astronomer Kin EnDate and Kazuro Watanabe at Kitami Observatory ( IAU code 400) in the sub-prefecture Okhotsk on the Japanese island of Hokkaido was discovered.

The asteroid is named after the Sea of ​​Okhotsk .
