(4527) Schoenberg is an asteroid of the main belt , on 24 July 1982 by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station (IAU code 688) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the Austrian composer and music theorist Arnold Schönberg (1874–1951), the creator of the twelve-tone technique and protagonist of atonal music .
