(7672) Hawking is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 24 October 1995 at the Kleť Observatory in South Bohemia near the town of Cesky Krumlov was discovered.
The asteroid was named on February 11, 1998 after the British theoretical physicist and astrophysicist Stephen Hawking (1942-2018), who, although he was dependent on a wheelchair since 1968 and lost the ability to speak in 1985, did important work on cosmology and general relativity and delivered to black holes .
