(8006) Tacchini is a main belt asteroid discovered on August 22, 1988 at the San Vittore Observatory ( IAU code 552) in Bologna .
The asteroid was named after the Italian astronomer Pietro Tacchini (1838-1905), who together with Angelo Secchi founded the Italian Spectroscopic Society in 1871 and in 1874 observed the passage of Venus in India .
