(9380) Mâcon is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on August 17, 1993 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the Observatoire de Calern ( IAU code 010) north of Grasse .
The asteroid is a member of the Koronis family, a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis.
(9380) Macon was on April 2, 1999 after Macon named, one on the right bank of the Saône nearby town in Burgundy , in the 3rd century. Chr. By the Celtic tribe of the Aedui ( Aedui ) under the name Matisco was founded in 1790 and capital of the newly created department Saône-et-Loire was.
