15 Hudson Yards (also known as the D Tower and Culture Tower ) is a skyscraper under construction in New York City .

The project was first presented to the public in summer 2011. The tower is said to be in the so-called Hudson Yards - a district in the far west of Manhattan . The name is derived from the Hudson River , which marks the western edge of Manhattan Island and on the banks of which the skyscraper is being built. The street address is 11th Avenue and West 30th Street . Currently (as of 2019) a huge building complex is being built here, similar to that of the World Trade Center .

The D Tower is designed purely as a residential tower and is to be around 278 meters high and have 88 floors. It would surpass well-known New York residential buildings such as the Trump World Tower or the Beekman Tower . The skyscraper was designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro and David Rockwell, in collaboration with Ismael Leyva Architects. 15 Hudson Yards stands out from the rest of the skyline with its organic design . A total of 326 residential units are to be built, 68 of which are available as rental apartments. The remaining 258 are to be sold exclusively as condominiums. Furthermore, the building should have a 24-hour concierge service and a garage for residents only.

The first caissons were placed in mid-November 2014, and construction officially began. 15 Hudson Yards is the last residential tower in the complex to be completed by the end of 2019. The Shed cultural center is being built next to the building .
