173rd Reserve Division (Wehrmacht)

The 173rd Reserve Division was an infantry division of the army of the German Wehrmacht in World War II . The division was formed on July 17, 1943 from the previous division No. 173, which was set up in 1939 in the military district XIII (Nuremberg) , and moved to Croatia . On February 9, 1944, the division was relocated to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and its sub-units were used at the Milowitz military training area there , northeast of Prague , to set up the Milowitz shadow division.
