The league competition German Swimming Team Championships , DMS for short , for men was held in January and February 2014 . The SG Stadtwerke München secured for the first time the title of the German team champion.
1st National League
The SG Stadtwerke München secured in Essen main bathroom for the first time the title of the German team champion. The following season, SC Wiesbaden 1911 and SV Halle were relegated to the subordinate 2nd Bundesliga, while SV Nikar Heidelberg and VfL Sindelfingen were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga .
Marco Koch from Darmstadt achieved the best individual performance in the championship with 928 points over 200 m breaststroke .
mode
In the competition of the 1st Bundesliga, in which 12 teams took part, the complete Olympic program was swum on a 25-meter lane on two consecutive days in three sections. The German team champion was the team with the highest total number of points (calculated using the FINA point table). The last two teams in the 1st Bundesliga (places 11 and 12) were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. A swimmer was only allowed to start in five competitions, whereby a swim course could only be repeated in the event of a subsequent swim. The start in the post-swim counted towards the number of starts of the swimmer.

2nd Bundesliga
The two teams with the best points from the 2nd Bundesliga and thus promoted to the 1st Bundesliga came from the South Season and were SV Nikar Heidelberg and VfL Sindelfingen .

The 2. Bundesliga competition was designed for 12 teams each in the North, West and South leagues. The complete Olympic program was swum on a 25-meter lane in two sections on one day. The two teams with the best points (calculated on the basis of the FINA point table) in the 2nd Bundesliga (overall rating) were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga. The last two teams placed in each season (places 11 and 12) were relegated to the highest national league. If more teams relegated from the 1st Bundesliga to a relay of the 2nd Bundesliga than were promoted from this to the 1st Bundesliga, so many teams from the relevant relay had to relegate that 12 teams belonged to each relay. A swimmer was only allowed to start in four competitions, whereby a swim course could only be repeated in the event of a subsequent swim. The start in the post-swim counted towards the number of starts of the swimmer.
North season
The competition took place on February 1, 2014 in the university swimming pool of Kiel instead.
Rob Muffels from Magdeburg achieved the best individual performance in the 2. Bundesliga North with 794 points over 1,500 m freestyle .

From January 18 to February 22, 2014, the competitions were held at the state level, where the promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga were determined.

The national competitions were held on a 25-meter lane in one day. The entire Olympic program was swum in two sections.
