2020 is the 14th studio album by the American rock band Bon Jovi . It was initially due to be released on May 15, 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the release has been postponed to October 2.

The album was first announced on March 13, 2019 on social media . This was done, among other things, through the story function of Instagram and the upload of a silent clip in which the band can be seen at work in the Ocean Way Nashville Recording Studio . At the end of the clip the words "Day One, Song One" (German: day one, song one) appear. Again, the name of the song was not disclosed.

In the course of his Runaway-To-Paradise trip on the Norwegian Pearl , Jon Bon Jovi announced on August 27, 2019 to the weekly industry journal Variety that the upcoming album would ultimately be titled Bon Jovi: 2020 and focus on current political and social issues To make headlines. He indicated that the 59th presidential election of the United States will take place in 2020 , which is said to have supported this thematic decision. On October 30, 2019, the band announced that the first single Unbroken would be released on November 1, 2019.
