- January 12 : The Roman Senate closes the gates of the Temple of Janus , a sign that peace reigns in the Roman Empire after the civil war .
- August 13 : Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus , great-nephew of Julius Caesar , organizes the first of three successive triumphal procession in Rome. This applies to the victory over the Dalmatian tribes.
- August 14th : Octavian's second triumphal procession is the victory in the Battle of Actium .
- August 15 : With the third triumphal procession, the Romans celebrate the conquest of Egypt by Octavian. The general becomes ruler of the Roman Empire. Following the third triumphal procession, the Temple of Divus Iulius is consecrated in Rome in honor of the deified Gaius Iulius Caesar . The Ferragosto festival is still celebrated in Italy on this occasion .
