- After Antigonus I Monophthalmos , the remaining diadochs Seleucus I in Mesopotamia , Ptolemy I in Egypt , Lysimachus in Thrace and Cassander in Macedonia also assume the title of king; final end of the unification of the Alexander empire .
- Demetrios I Poliorketes begins the siege of Rhodes, an ally of Egypt . Huge siege engines are used.
- Together with the Aitolians , the Athenians under their general Olympiodoros win at Elateia against the Macedonians under Kassander .
- Conflicts between the Indian ruler Chandragupta Maurya and Seleukos I begin on the eastern border of the Seleucid Empire.
