Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East
- With the support of the Egyptian diadoch Ptolemaios I , Rhodes succeeds in repelling Demetrios I Poliorketes' attempt to conquer . Ptolemy was then given the nickname Soter (savior) and was worshiped as a god. After he, like the other Diadochi, had accepted the title of king, he was officially crowned King of Egypt.
- The construction of the Colossus of Rhodes begins (presumably, completion 292 BC ).
- Demetrios I. Poliorketes drives out the Macedonian troops of Kassander from Attica and conquers Chalkis .
Western Mediterranean
- The Second Samnite War ends: After their military defeat, the Samnites have to recognize the rule of Rome over Campania and the colonies established by Rome, but the Samnite League may continue to exist. The Martians , Paeligners , Marrucines , Frentans and Vestines join the peace.
- Rome defeats the Aequer and secures the area around Lake Fucin through the city of Alba Fucens, which is connected to Rome by the Via Valeria.
- Agathocles of Syracuse names himself King of Sicily . He has the inhabitants of Leontinoi killed and attacks the Aeolian Islands .
- Taranto , attacked by the Grossers , calls on Agathocles of Syracuse for help.

- Gnaeus Flavius publishes the Fasti , the Roman festival calendar, which was previously only available to the patricians.
