Empire of Alexander the Great / Diadoch Wars
- After defeating Eumenes, Antigonus I Monophthalmos gains control of large parts of the Asian Alexander Empire , so that Seleucus I , governor of the province of Babylonia , has to flee to Egypt . Since Antigonus I, up to now a co-ally of the other diadochi, openly strives for sole rule, Ptolemy I , Seleucus I, Lysimachus and Cassander join forces against him. The Third Diadoch War begins and lasts until 311 BC. Chr.
- Ptolemy I disempowered the Cypriot kings and had the island administered by his governor Menelaus .
- The Macedonian Diadoche Kassandros founded the city of Thessalonike , named after his wife, and had the port of Thessaloniki moored in the sheltered bay .
