Empire of Alexander the Great
- Spring: Antigonus , charged by the Diadochi with the fight against Eumenes , triumphs over him in southern Asia Minor , whereupon Eumenes leaves the fortress Nora and gathers new troops and allies in the eastern satrapies.
- Summer: Death of the Macedonian imperial administrator Antipater . This had as his successor in the office of regent for the insane King Philip III. Arrhidaios determined his confidante Polyperchon . Antipater's son Kassander feels left out. Since Antigonos in Asia Minor and Ptolemy in Egypt also refuse to recognize Polyperchon, but he allies himself with Eumenes, the Second Diadoch War occurs , which lasts until 316 BC. Chr. Lasts. Ptolemy I attacks Phenicia and Syria . Polyperchon tries to win the Greek cities over by proclaiming their freedom. This is primarily directed against Nikanor , the general Kassander, who controls Athens via the Macedonian garrison stationed in nearby Munychia .
