Empire of Alexander the Great
- Seleucus I. defends finally the attempts of Antigonus I Monophthalmus down, Mesopotamia recover.
- Ptolemy I leads his fleet into the Aegean Sea , where he defeats the Nesiot League founded by Antigonus I of several Aegean Greek cities.
- Antigonus I sends Heracles , the illegitimate son of Alexander the Great , to his ally Polyperchon in the Peloponnese to support against Cassander . Soon afterwards, however, Polyperchon changed sides and handed Herakles and his mother Barsine over to Kassander, who had them both killed. This means that the old Macedonian royal dynasty is finally wiped out.
- Lysimachos , ruler of Thrace , founds the city of Lysimacheia on the Chersonesos peninsula .
Western Mediterranean
- Second Samnite War : Nuceria Alfaterna joins the Samnites against Rome . The Romans appoint Lucius Papirius Cursor the dictator ; At Longula this succeeds in an important victory against the Samnites.
- While Agathocles of Syracuse is fighting the Carthaginians in Africa, the Carthaginian general Hamilcar is killed in fighting in Sicily ; Akragas can then break away from Carthaginian rule.
