30 Arietis (also abbreviated 30 Ari ) is a four-fold star in the constellation Aries , which is visible in the sky as a faint star 6th magnitude . It is just under 150 light years from the sun.

Star system

The two main components 30 Arietis A and B are 38.1 ", or about 1.500 AE away from each other. They belong to the Spectral F and are main-sequence stars which its radiation energy by hydrogen burning release in their nuclei. 30 Arietis A in turn is a spectroscopic binary with an orbital period of 1.1 days. with 910 million years, 30 Arietis only a fifth of the age of the sun .

Planetary system

Main article: 30 Arietis Bb

The component 30 Arietis B is orbited at a distance of 1 AU from an exoplanet , the discovery of which was announced on November 27, 2009.
