action

During a meeting between the Torricelli family, part of the Cosa Nostra , and black market traders, Massimo Toriccelli sees a beautiful woman on the beach. At the meeting, his father, head of the family, is shot and Massimo is seriously injured.

Five years later, through the death of his father, Massimo has risen to become an unscrupulous and violent mafia boss. Meanwhile, Laura is turned down by her boyfriend Martin in Warsaw when she wants to have sex with him. She doesn't feel happy in the relationship. Nevertheless, she celebrates her 29th birthday with her boyfriend and best friend Olga in Italy . After Martin doesn't take Laura on an excursion, she goes for a walk and runs into Massimo's arms. Massimo recognizes Laura as the woman he saw on the beach five years ago and has her kidnapped.

At his villa, he explains to her that when he was injured, he could only think of her. After looking for Laura for five years, he recognized Laura at the airport in Italy. Massimo explains to her that he needs her and that she has 365 days to fall in love with him. Should she manage this, beckon her to a life of luxury. When Laura tries to escape, Massimo shows her photos of Martin cheating. Massimo explains to Laura that a suicide note has been sent to Martin on her behalf. Massimo tries to calm Laura down by telling her not to touch her without her consent while he is holding her arms. Laura resigns and tries not to flee anymore.

Over time, Laura, who is vengeful and angry, becomes more and more provocative. She turns increasingly sexy underwear and provocative underwear on. In this way, Laura is able to find out more and more personal things about Massimo. She teases him again in a hotel in Rome . Laura is then handcuffed to the bed as a punishment by Massimo. So she is forced to watch Massimo have oral sex with a woman . Then Massimo strokes Laura's body and it seems as if Laura gives in. However, Massimo suddenly stops, releases her from the shackles and orders her to get ready for the club.

At the club, Laura starts flirting with a rival Mafioso, whereupon he touches Laura without her consent. The situation between Massimo, his followers and the rival Mafioso escalates while Laura is brought out of the club. The next morning Laura wakes up on a yacht. Massimo and his partner Mario discuss last night. It becomes clear that Massimo shot the man Laura was flirting with that night, sparking a Mafia war. Mario insists that Massimo has to get rid of Laura in order not to let the situation escalate further. But Massimo strictly rejects this. Laura, who overheard this discussion, tries to apologize to Massimo. However, he sees the blame for the incident on her. In the midst of the argument between the two, Laura falls off the yacht into the water. Massimo jumps after them to save her. When Laura wakes up, Massimo reveals to her that he was afraid that Laura might die, but that he doesn't want to lose her. The two then have sex.

Massimo allows Laura to travel to Warsaw to visit her family and says he will follow her to Warsaw as soon as he finishes work. While Laura waits a few days for Massimo in Warsaw, the friendship with Olga blossoms again and the two friends go out to celebrate. Laura meets Martin at Club, who wants to apologize to Laura, explain the pictures and win Laura over again. Martin follows Laura to her apartment. However, Massimo is surprisingly waiting there. He orders Martin to leave. Angry that she had to wait longer for Massimo than agreed, Laura slaps Massimo.

During the subsequent sex, Laura pulls up Massimo's T-shirt and sees wounds Massimo suffered from the Mafia war. Laura admits that she loves him. Massimo then proposes to Laura the next morning, which she accepts, but asks Massimo not to mention it to her parents.

Back in Italy, Mario Massimo informs about further escalations of the Mafia war. Laura mentions that she is not doing well but refuses to see the doctor. The two discuss their upcoming wedding, to which Laura's parents are not invited, so as not to find out what Massimo is doing. But Massimo allows Olga to come to the wedding as Laura's bridesmaid . When Olga comes to Italy for the wedding, Laura confesses to her that she is pregnant. Olga urges Laura to reveal the pregnancy to Massimo. At the same time, Mario learns from an informant that the rival Mafia wants to kill Laura. Laura's car drives into a tunnel, but does not leave it. Mario rushes to Massimo, but comes too late because the call from Massimo and Laura has broken off. When Massimo realizes the effects, he collapses. The film ends with a police car in front of the tunnel.

reception

365 Tage draws parallels to the erotic drama Fifty Shades of Gray , published in 2015 , but was praised for the more daring sex scenes. On the other hand, the romanticization of kidnappings is criticized.

“It is amazing that such a film is still being released in the #MeToo era. It is even more astonishing that the novel comes from a woman, more precisely from Blanka Lipinska, another woman with Barbara Bialowas agreed to take over the co-direction. "

- Oliver Armknecht : film-rezensions.de

On Rotten Tomatoes , the film received an average rating of 0%, based on 11 reviews with an average score of 1.58 / 10.

The lexicon of the international film sums up: “The thin plot juggling with SM fantasies culminates in the second part in a series of sex scenes that follow a porn dramaturgy of sporting position changes without becoming pornographic-explicit. The romanticization of an abuse scenario is annoying; sometimes involuntarily funny through wooden dialogues and silly Mafia clichés. "

Susan Vahabzadeh from Süddeutsche Zeitung summarized:

"Unsuspecting Polish woman is kidnapped by a murderous Mafia boss while on vacation in Sicily and from then on held captive so that she can finally fall in love with him, which should last a maximum of 365 days, although under these circumstances eternity would not be enough."

- Susan Vahabzadeh : sueddeutsche.de

continuation

A sequel of the film is planned, but has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
