Toxicological data
As far as possible and customary, SI units are used. Unless otherwise noted, the data given apply to standard conditions .

4,4-Dimethyloxazolidine (DMO) is a chemical compound from the group of oxazolidines , which is effective as a formaldehyde- releasing biocide (formaldehyde content 30%).

4,4-Dimethyloxazolidine is produced by a condensation reaction (= elimination of water ) of the amino alcohol 2-amino-2-methylpropanol with formaldehyde .

DMO is used, among other things, for the preservation of paints, varnishes, household cleaners, cooling lubricants and water that is produced during oil production.

Admission

According to Regulation (EC) 1451/2007 Annex II, DMO is one of the old biocidal active ingredients that are currently still allowed to be marketed in biocidal products (product types 6, 11, 12, 13).
