The 9ff GT9 is a super sports car from the German tuning company 9ff based on the Porsche 997 . The GT9 differs from the normal Porsche 911 in the position of the engine. The 911 has a rear engine , the GT9 a mid-engine to distribute the weight more evenly.
The aim of the development of the vehicle was to beat the speed record of 412 km / h of the SSC Ultimate Aero TT for street-legal vehicles from 2007. On April 10, 2008, two independently working GPS devices measured the top speed of the GT9 at 409 km / h. In later top-speed drives, the 824 kW (1120 PS) 9ff GT9-R with 414 km / h achieved the highest speed ever measured in a street-legal vehicle. In order to achieve this speed, the entire vehicle was heavily modified. For example, the roof has been lowered and the wheelbase has been extended. In 2012 the 1029 kW (1400 PS) 9ff GT9 Vmax reached 437 km / h.
GT9 CS
At the Essen Motor Show 2011, 9ff presented the “ Edition Club Sport (CS) ”. It costs 375,000 €, depending on the equipment, more, but is only made to order. It is powered by a 551 kW (750 PS) boxer engine, which accelerates the vehicle to up to 364 km / h. The vehicle is 4720 mm long, has a tubular frame and a body made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic . The front wheels are suspended from MacPherson struts and triangular wishbones , the rear wheels are suspended from double wishbones with internal spring-damper units operated by push rods . There are adjustable stabilizers on both axes . The brakes have ceramic brake discs made of silicon carbide reinforced with carbon fibers , with a diameter of 380 mm on the front axle and six-piston brake calipers , and 350 mm on the rear with four pistons. The 18-inch wheels have 285/35 tires at the front, while the rear tires are 345/30. The manufacturer is Michelin .
