Aílton do Nascimento Correia , known as Aílton , (born October 13, 1984 in Recife ) is a Brazilian football player . The midfielder is currently under contract with Acadêmica Vitória .
Career
Aílton began his professional career in 2001 in his birthplace at Náutico Capibaribe . With these he immediately won the national championship of Pernambuco , which was defended the following year. In 2002, the offensive player moved to São Paulo , for whom he played for two years. Until today (November 2010) Aílton changed clubs several times. Only at his home club Náutico, for which he also played as captain, was the midfielder more often under contract. In 2005 Aílton was close to promotion to the first Brazilian league with Náutico, but missed this in the decisive game against Gremio Porto Alegre . Major clubs of his professional career were Guarani FC and Botafogo FR for which he played in 2004 and 2008 respectively. He also played for EC São Bento , Mogi Mirim EC , Central Sport Club , Itumbiara EC , Ceará SC and AD São Caetano . In 2009, then in Náutico's dress, Aílton scored the 1000th goal in the history of the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol . In 2015, Aílton played for Atlético Goianiense for four months . Since then he has played for smaller Brazilian clubs.
