Ağın (also called Eğin ) is a city and capital of the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Elazığ . Ağın is 83 kilometers by road northwest of the provincial capital and is home to about 60% of the district's population. Ağın's other name is identical to the former name of Kemaliye in Erzincan Province, which is adjacent to Ağın.

The district of Ağın is located in the northwest of the province on the Keban Reservoir and borders the provinces of Erzincan , Malatya and Tunceli . It was spun off from the northern part of Keban County in 1954, creating the seventh county of the province. Until then it was its own Bucak in Keban County .

In addition to the district town, the district also includes 16 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 68 inhabitants. This is the lowest average value for a village in the province. Saraycık is the largest village with 248 inhabitants. The population density is the lowest in the province.
