The AAA World Tag Team Championship ( Spanish : Campeonato en Parejas AAA ) is the main tag team title of the Mexican Lucha Libre promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). In 1993, the AAA created the first version of a tag team title, the AAA / IWC (International Wrestling Council) World Tag Team Championship. The belts for these two collaborative promotions were the old NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Championship belts. This original version was discontinued in 1994 after Art Barr's death. In 2007 the Comisión de Box y Lucha Libre Mexico DF established the Mexican National Tag Team Championship. Although the title had a similar name, it is shown here separately because the official titleholders differ. As usual in wrestling, the titles are awarded as part of a storyline and are not the result of a sporting competition.
