The AKG Group is a globally active German group of companies that manufactures thermotechnical products ( coolers and heat exchangers for use in automobiles, commercial vehicles, diesel and gas engines, rail vehicles, construction and agricultural machinery, compressors , refrigeration dryers , flow brakes , in power electronics and the Hydraulics ).

The group has production sites in Brazil , the People's Republic of China , Germany , England , France , India , Japan , Latvia , Turkey and the USA . The headquarters of the AKG Group is Hofgeismar in the Kassel district in Hesse .

The high-performance coolers and heat exchangers produced by the AKG Group are used in locomotives , high-speed trains , in agricultural, construction and forestry machines, in industrial plants and large engines, in switch cabinets , medical devices, condensers and tumble dryers.

The cooling systems of the AKG Group are installed in automobiles in the luxury segment such as Bentley , Porsche and Ferrari . Among other things, AKG also produces intercoolers for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class . Compact cooling systems from the AKG Group were also installed in the Airbus A380 .

The company AKG emerged from the Autokühler Gesellschaft founded in Dortmund in 1919 , which manufactured coolers in small series and carried out repairs. Today, with over 2,500 employees, AKG manufactures more than 2.5 million heat exchangers per year in 12 production sites around the world.
