ASR Nederland NV is a Dutch insurance group based in Utrecht .
history
As part of the financial crisis , Fortis Holding found itself in a massive financial crisis from mid-September 2008. On October 4, 2008, the Dutch part of the Fortis Group (ABN AMRO, Fortis Bank Nederland Holding NV, Fortis Insurance Netherlands NV and Fortis Corporate Insurance NV (FCI)) was taken over 100 percent by the Netherlands for 16.8 billion euros.
The Fortis Verzekeringen Nederland NV was here on 21 November 2008 ASR Nederland NV . These include the brands Ardanta, De Amersfoortse, Europeesche Verzekeringen, Falcon Leven en Ditzo.
The Fortis ASR became the ASR Verzekeringen NV . This sells property insurance (auto, residential buildings, legal protection), mortgages and pension funds.
The Fortis Insurance International NV has not been in the ASR Nederland involved with, but remains a subsidiary of Ageas SA / NV (formerly Fortis Holding SA / NV) and has now been in Fortis Insurance Asia renamed.
There is also Fortis Corporate Insurance (FCI), a Dutch specialist insurer for large companies, in particular ship and fleet insurance, which was initially also taken over by the Dutch government and has since been sold to the British insurance group Amlin .
ASR Nederland NV was able to increase its premium income by 10 percent to 5.8 billion euros in 2008, but still made a net loss of 640 million euros.
