Aaron Voros (born July 2, 1981 in Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian ice hockey player on the position of left winger , who was last under contract with the Connecticut Whale in the American Hockey League .
Career
Voros played as a youth for the Victoria Salsa in the British Columbia Hockey League , a second-rate junior league in the Canadian province of British Columbia . After Voros was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2001 in the eighth round in 229th place by the New Jersey Devils , he played three years in the US college league Central Collegiate Hockey Association for the University of Alaska Fairbanks .
At the end of the 2003/04 season he played for the first time in the farm team of the Devils, in the American Hockey League with the Albany River Rats . After three more seasons in the AHL farm teams of the Devils, he was transferred to the Minnesota Wild against a draft law of the seventh round . There he was initially only used in the AHL. On February 11, 2007 Voros was finally used for the first time in the NHL for the game against the Colorado Avalanche . In the course of the season he came to 55 missions in which he scored 14 points.
After his contract in Minnesota had expired at the end of the 2007/08 season , he signed on July 1, 2008 as a free agent with the New York Rangers . After starting the 2008/09 season with nine points in the first eight games, his performances were weaker, which meant that he was often no longer used. In July 2010, the Rangers gave him to the Anaheim Ducks together with Ryan Hillier in exchange for Steve Eminger . In Anaheim he was used sporadically and was sent to the farm team for the Syracuse Crunch during the 2010/11 season . In February 2011, he was given to the Toronto Maple Leafs in a transfer deal in exchange for a performance-related seven-round vote in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft . However, he was Canadians only in the farm team with the Toronto Marlies used and after the 2010/11 season he was without a club before Voros signed a contract with the Connecticut Whale from the AHL in November 2011 . At the beginning of February 2012, they terminated his contractual relationship with immediate effect.
