Aarzemnieki (2014)

Aarzemnieki is a Latvian band. The music project was founded in 2011 by the German singer Jöran Steinhauer and the British Nick Massey and developed further in 2013. With the song Cake to bake , the band was selected after a TV preliminary decision with a total of 24 competitors to represent Latvia in the 1st semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen . However, they missed the finals.

The band name ( actually ārzemnieki according to Latvian spelling ) means "(the) foreigners" when translated into German .
