Abádszalók is a Hungarian city ​​with a population of over 4,000 (as of 2011) in the Kunhegyes district in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county .

Geographical location

Abádszalók is located in the Northern Great Plain , about 50 kilometers south of Eger at the southern end of Lake Tisza . Neighboring communities are Tiszadercs and Tiszabura.

history

The first mention of the place comes from the year 1271, since 1717 it has been inhabited continuously. It emerged from the repeated unification and separation of the municipalities of Tiszaabád and Tiszaszalók . In 1740 around 44 families of craftsmen from Germany settled here, and their descendants have lived here to this day.
