history

The community was created on January 1, 1980. It was formed from the previously independent communities Abbenbroek, Oudenhoorn and Zuidland and parts of the communities Geervliet (with Simonshaven ) and Heenvliet . On January 1, 2015, it was dissolved and incorporated into the municipality of Nissewaard.

Recreation area

There is a 300 hectare recreational area within the community. Bird lovers and water sports enthusiasts in particular get their money's worth here.
