Abdullah Recep

Abdullah Recep (* 1955 in Tirebolu , Giresun Province ) is a Turkish general of the army (Türk Kara Kuvvetleri) who was, among other things, commander of the Army Academy (Kara Harp Akademisi) between 2014 and 2015 and since 2015 Commander in Chief of the Aegean Army (Ege Ordusu ) is.

Life

Officer and staff officer

After attending school, Recep began his training as an officer in the engineering force at the Army School (Kara Harp Okulu) and graduated in 1975 as a lieutenant (Teğmen) . He then served as an officer in the engineering battalion of III between 1976 and 1981. Promotion to general

After his promotion to Brigadier General (Tuğgeneral) on August 30, 2001, Recep was head of the Internal Security Operations Department in the General Staff between 2001 and 2004 and then commander of the 16th tank brigade from 2004 to 2006.

In 2006 he was promoted to major general (Tümgeneral) . As such, he was transferred to NATO's Allied Command Transformation ( ACT ) in Norfolk , where he was Deputy Chief of Staff for Resources and Logistics. He was then on August 19, 2008 as the successor to Major General Mehmet Eröz Commander of the Armed Forces of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC Güvenlik Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı) and Commander of the Turkish Forces in Cyprus (Kıbrıs Türk Barış Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı) . He held this post until his replacement by Major General Mehmet Daysal on August 17, 2010.

Recep was promoted to lieutenant general (co- general ) in 2010 and served as the head of the operations department in the General Staff between 2010 and 2012 and then from 2012 to 2014 as the commanding general of the VII Corps in Elazığ .

After his promotion to General (Orgeneral) , Recep succeeded General Yalçın Ataman as the commander of the General Staff Academy (Harp Akademileri) of the Armed Forces (Türk Silahlı Kuvetleri) on August 20, 2014 and remained in this post until he was replaced by General Tahir Bekiroğlu on August 20 August 2015. Since August 11, 2015 he has been Commander-in-Chief of the Aegean Army (Ege Ordusu) at the Izmir headquarters and thus successor to General Galip Mendi .

Recep is married and has a son and a daughter.
