Career

society

Temel started his professional career in the 1968/69 season with Eskişehirspor , the first division club in his hometown Eskişehir. The club was founded in Eskişehir and registered for participation in the 2nd Futbol Ligi , the second-highest Turkish league that was introduced only two years ago. Since this club was supposed to represent the city of Eskişehir, all the talents of the local smaller clubs or those who came from Eskişehir were brought to this club. Already in the first season the team reached the championship of the 2nd league and thus promotion to the 1st league . As a second division champion, the team competed in the Prime Minister's Cup against Trabzon İdmanocağı in the summer of 1966 , won this game 1-0 and won their second title in the first season in the club's history. In this environment Temel was only included in the youth team and before the season 1968/69 with other young players from the youth department as a supplementary player in the professional squad. Here he made his professional debut in the league game on September 21, 1968 against Ankara Demirspor . In the further course of the season Temel quickly established himself as a regular player, this position kept his entire Eskişehirspor time except for injury-related failures and game suspensions. The 1968/69 season he helped the club to achieve the greatest success in the club's history with the Turkish runner-up . Up to this season, the three big Istanbul clubs Beşiktaş , Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray decided the Turkish championship and the runner-up among themselves. This success was the greatest of an Anatolian team in Turkish football to date. After this championship, the team established itself as a permanent fixture in Turkish football and reached the Turkish runner-up two more times, twice in 3rd place in the table and twice in 4th place in the table in the next six seasons. In addition, the Turkish Cup ( 1970/71 ) was won during this time, the Turkish Cup final ( 1969/70 ) was achieved again and the President's Cup in 1970/71 and the Prime Minister's Cup for the second time in the club's history in 1971/72 fetched. Temel played except for the 1972/1973 and 1973/1974 seasons consistently as a regular player and was thus involved in the greatest successes in the club's history.

In the second half of the 1970s Temel fell ill and died of the consequences of this disease.

National team

Temel's national team career began in December 1969 with a commitment for the Turkish U-18 national team. After four more U-18 appearances, he started in 1970 for the Turkish U-21 national team and then played a third time in 1973 for the Turkish U-21 team. On this last assignment he was well over 21 years old.
