The 1996 election to the House of Representatives in the Czech Republic took place on May 31 and June 1, 1996. It was the first parliamentary election in the Czech Republic, founded in 1993 . The Senate was also elected in the same year .

Strongest party by constituency (blue: ODS, orange: ČSSD)

The conservative Democratic Citizens' Party (ODS) won the election with a slight lead over the Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD), which had the second-best result with 26.44% of the votes cast. The Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM) received 10.33% and was thus represented as the third largest party. Furthermore, the Christian Democratic People's Party (KDU-ČSL) entered parliament with 8.08%, the Republican Party (SPR-RSČ) with 8.00% and the liberal-conservative Democratic Citizens' Alliance (ODA) with 6.36%.
