Abrar Osman

Abrar Osman (born January 1, 1994 ) is an Eritrean long-distance runner .

He won over 3000 m at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and won bronze at the 2011 World Youth Athletics Championships in Lille.

In 2012 he won silver over 5000 m at the Junior World Championships in Athletics in Barcelona and was eliminated in the preliminary stages at the Olympic Games in London .

The following year he finished 18th at the World Cross Country Championships 2013 in Bydgoszcz and was sixth at Dam tot Damloop .

In 2014 he won bronze in the 5000 m at the African Athletics Championships in Marrakech . At the Athletics Continental Cup in Marrakech he was sixth over 3000 m and second at the Corrida de Houilles .

In 2015 he came in 13th place at the Cross Country World Championships in Guiyang . At the World Championships in Beijing, he finished sixth in the 10,000m event and failed in the preliminary round in the 5000m, and at the Africa Games in Brazzaville he was fourth in the 5000m.

At the World Half Marathon Championships in Cardiff in 2016 , he finished seventh in 1:00:58 hours and won the bronze medal in the Nations Cup with the Eritrean team. In the same year he was tenth in the 5000-meter run at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
