Achim Lippoth

Achim Lippoth (* 1968 in Ilshofen ) is a German photographer and film director.

Life

Lippoth was born in Ilshofen in 1968 and lives in Cologne . From 1985 to 1986 Achim Lippoth studied at Byrom College Manchester in Great Britain . He then studied art at the University of Cologne from 1986 to 1992 and learned photography as an autodidact during his art studies. Achim Lippoth has been a freelance photographer since 1992, and has also been a director for worldwide film productions since 1998. Lippoth is also the founder and publisher of the international magazine “kid's wear”, which has been appearing internationally since 1995, to which renowned photo artists such as Anton Corbijn , Michel Comte , Nan Goldin , Martin Parr ,Oliviero Toscani or Bruce Weber contribute.

Achim Lippoth has been working as a freelance fashion and advertising photographer for industrial customers such as B. Audi , DaimlerChrysler , IBM , Nestlé or Nokia and renowned advertising agencies such as Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO , DDB Worldwide , Gray Worldwide , Jung von Matt , Leo Burnett Worldwide , Lowe Worldwide , Ogilvy & Mather , Weiden & Kennedy and others. Lippoth's pictures have also been published in international magazines such as the New York Times Magazine , Life , Wallpaper Magazine , SZ-Magazin , Vogue , and Stern .

In the time between official shooting dates, Lippoth realizes personal photo projects, which Lippoth calls "staged reportage photography". The focus of his work: the theme of childhood. Lippoth photographs dance students and child monks, athletes and child soldiers. The children are the main actors and heroes of the story, the background of which is designed by adults. Time and again, series of images emerge which show the viewer the childlike behavior prescribed and trained by adults, but also spontaneous childlike expressions.

Lippoth's works are u. a. Represented by Fahey / Klein Gallery ( Los Angeles ), Catherine Edelman Gallery ( Chicago ), Paris- Beijing -Gallery ( Paris ) and Shay Arye Gallery ( Tel Aviv ).

Achim Lippoth's work is regularly awarded and exhibited internationally. The last awards he received in 2010, u. a. in Cannes and at the New York Festivals.
