Adam Bedell (born December 1, 1991 in Livonia , Michigan ) is an American football player who is active in Denmark for HB Køge , but is contractually bound to Orlando City .

Personal

Adam Bedell was born on December 1, 1991 in Livonia, Michigan. There he attended Winston Churchill High School. In 2010 he began studying biology at the University of Detroit Mercy .

For his high school he played basketball as well as soccer.

Career

Bedell played in youth football for the Columbus Crew for six years as the franchise runs a youth academy in Livonia.

During his studies in Detroit he was then active in college soccer . For the Detroit Titans , he played in the Horizon League from 2010 . Among other things, he was named the best player in the league in 2012 when he scored eleven goals. As in the following year, he was elected Team of the Year. In his four-year college career, he scored 23 goals and prepared 22 more directly.

He was also in 2012 and 2013 for the Detroit City FC in the - to the National Premier Soccer League belonging - Great Lakes West Conference active.

In the third round of the MLS Super Draft , he was elected by the Columbus crew in January 2014. On March 5, he signed his first professional contract with the first division club from Columbus , Ohio , which secured him an annual salary of about US $ 36,500.

On March 8, 2014, he made his MLS debut against DC United . The 2.00 m tall and 92 kg heavy Bedell went down in history as the largest player in the league. On July 12, he scored his first goal in professional football in a league game against New York . In May 2015 Bedell's move to partner club Austin Aztex FC in the USL was announced. The transfer took place on loan; Columbus secured the right to recall Bedell at any time. On May 2, he made his debut in the season opening game in a 2-2 draw against Oklahoma City Energy . After three missions for Austin, he was awarded to the Richmond Kickers in late July . For the team from Virginia he made his debut on July 25th in a game against the reserve team of the New York Red Bulls. However, the loan deal was ended after Bedell's only two league appearances in order to enable Bedell's transfer to league rivals Orlando City . This was announced in early August 2015.

Orlando decided to loan Bedell to HB Køge by the end of the year to give him match practice. He made his debut for the Danish first division side on September 6, 2015 in a league game against FC Vestsjælland . In this game he also scored his first competitive goal for his new club.
