Adam Heinrich Dresig

Adam Heinrich Dresig (also: Adamus Henricus Dresigius) (born June 10, 1701 in Hillmersdorf ; † 1761 ) was a German pedagogue , classical philologist and rector in Lübben .

Life

Dresig was born in Hillmersdorf in 1701 in the office of Schlieben in Niederlausitz. From 1717 he attended the Lyceum in Luckau and from 1720 the University of Wittenberg . In addition to his studies, he helped his teacher Christoph Heinrich von Berger to publish his book Commentatio De Personis Vulgo Larvis Seu Mascheris (1723). He also supported Friedrich Strunz in his work. In 1728 he left the university as a master of philosophy and worked as a private tutor in various places .

On November 4, 1737, he was employed at the Luckau Lyceum, and on June 20, 1742, he was appointed vice rector . On August 2, 1747 he was appointed rector in Lübben.

Together with his cousin Siegmund Friedrich Dresig , he wrote the article in 1738: Sigism. Frider. Dresigii Epistola animadversiones in Fabri Thesaurum complectens: qua viro clarissimo atque amplissimo domino Adamo Henrico Dresigio .

A correspondence with Leonhard Euler in 1750 is documented. However, it is not known whether and what Euler replied.
