Christoph Heinrich Berger , from 1717 knight and noble lord von Berger (born March 18, 1687 in Wittenberg , † July 15, 1737 in Vienna ) was a German lawyer.

origin

He came from a Thuringian family and was the son of the Reichshofrat Johann Heinrich von Berger , professor at the University of Wittenberg , and Maria Sophia Jacobi . The father was on May 31, 1717 Wien in the kingdom knighthood named Mehrung "Knight and Noble Mr. Berger" raised its siblings until January 31, 1722. His younger brother was the lawyer Friedrich Ludwig Berger (1701-1735).

Life

Berger began studying law at the University of Wittenberg on August 16, 1690 and was listed as Prorector Filius on October 14, 1703 . After he had obtained his law degree on February 21 , he received his doctorate on October 2, 1710.

Berger became an assessor at the Niederlausitz regional court in 1714 and assessor at the law faculty on October 2, 1710 . On February 1, 1719 he became a full professor, took over the office of assessor at the court court in Wittenberg, occupied the Schöppenstuhl and also became "Comes palatinus". His student Adam Heinrich Dresig helped him with the publication of his book Commentatio De Personis Vulgo Larvis Seu Mascheris in 1723 .

In 1724 he became court and judicial councilor and went to Dresden in 1725 as a member of the court of appeal . However, he kept his professorship in Wittenberg and used to come to agreements with younger lecturers about his lectures. This enabled him to move up to the third full professorship at the Wittenberg Faculty of Law in 1726 (Digesti infortati et novi) . From 1727 he stayed in Aurich , where he stayed as the Electoral Saxon commissioner to settle the dispute between the estates and princes of East Frisia . In 1733 he succeeded his father as Reichshofrat in Vienna , where he also died.
