Adam Munro (born November 12, 1982 in St. George , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with HC Innsbruck in the Austrian ice hockey league since July 2013 .

Career

Adam Munro began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , in which he played from 1998 to 2003 for the Erie Otters and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds was active. With Erie he won the J. Ross Robertson Cup , the OHL championship, in the 2001/02 season , after having been the goalkeeper with the league-wide highest catch rate with 92.6% of shots blocked. In his OHL time he was selected in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft in the first round as a total of 29th player by the Chicago Blackhawks . For this he played a total of 17 games in the National Hockey League between 2003 and 2006 . The rest of the time he spent with their farm team Norfolk Admirals in the American Hockey League , as well as with the Gwinnett Gladiators and Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies in the ECHL .

For the 2006/07 season Munro went to Europe, where he signed a contract for the first time Friborg-Gottéron from the Swiss National League A received. In the 41 games in which he stood between the posts in the NLA, he had an average of 3.60 against. He then returned to North America, where he was active for another three years in the AHL, first for one season for the Syracuse Crunch and then for two seasons for the Toronto Marlies . Towards the end of the 2009/10 season , the Canadian was signed by HK Sibir Novosibirsk from the Continental Hockey League . For this he played four games until the end of the season, but could not attract attention with an average of 3.50 goals against and a catch rate of 87.0%. In October 2010, the Canadian moved briefly to SG Cortina , where he was initially scheduled to replace the injured Ryan Munce . During the 2010/11 season , the Canadian prevailed as a regular goalkeeper at SG Cortina, but still moved to Alba Volán Székesfehérvár in the Austrian league for the following season . Since July 2013 he has been under contract with HC Innsbruck in the EBEL.
