history

Adamov is one of the youngest towns in the region.

In 1895, the textile manufacturer Ignatz Etrich founded a linen spinning mill in the Aupa valley below Bausnitz , next to which the Adamsthal factory settlement was built. In July 1897 Adamthal was badly affected by the devastating flood of the Aupa. The settlement was part of the Bausnitz community.

After the Munich Agreement , Adamsthal and Bausnitz were added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Trautenau district until 1945 . In 1945 Adamov returned to Czechoslovakia.

After Bohuslavice nad Úpou was incorporated into the city of Trutnov, Adamov became a settlement of Trutnov on January 1, 1981. In 1991 the place had 103 inhabitants. In 2001 Adamov consisted of 18 houses in which 112 people lived. On May 15, 2001 Adamov received the status of a district of Trutnov. Together with Bohuslavice Adamov forms the cadastral district Bohuslavice nad Úpou.
