Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (born August 22, 1967 in London , England ) is a British actor and screenwriter .

Life

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was born the son of Nigerian immigrants in London, where he grew up with his four sisters. Later he studied at King's College London law and worked as a fashion model in Milan before opting for an acting career and a move to Los Angeles decided. In addition to his native Yoruba , Adewale also speaks English , Italian and Swahili . He is a practicing Buddhist and a sought-after film actor .

He gained his first film experience as a supporting actor in television series such as Red Shoe Diaries , New York Undercover and Cracker , before making his film debut in Congo in 1995 . He had his breakthrough in 1997 with the HBO series Oz - Hell Behind Bars . From 2005 to 2007 he played a major role in the series Lost .

In 2016 he took on the role of the cartoon character Killer Croc in the movie Suicide Squad .
