Legionnaires' is an American action film from the year 1998 . The leading role is played by Jean-Claude Van Damme .

Alain Lefevre is a French boxer from Marseille in the 1920s. He doesn't stick to an agreement with a gang boss and wins a fight he should lose. Chased by the criminals, he fled to the Foreign Legion . After a hard drill in the African desert, however, he is found there by the crooks. The warring men, however, have to hold together when their bastion is attacked by Berber tribes. The legionnaires are overrun by the superior forces. Lefevre is the only one to survive and is supposed to tell the other whites that the Berbers will not allow themselves to be submitted to anyone and that it is their country.
