from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christopher J. Tellefsen senior (born September 1957 ) is an American film editor .

Life

From 1975 to 1979 Christopher J. Tellefsen studied at Cooper Union , where he originally began with photography and painting before attending a film class and experimenting with the medium of film. He then edited industrial films and documentaries for the Italian television station Rai . When Tellefsen tried his hand at editing feature films, his first experience was sobering. He was supposed to work as an assistant for an independent film with Jackie Mason in the lead role. After the actual film editor was fired, he was promoted, but the film producers soon disappeared without a trace. But he still managed to establish himself and in the following years became assistant editor of Ralph Rosenblum and Thelma Schoonmaker , before he was allowed to independently edit a feature film for the first time with the drama Metropolitan in 1990.

After Tellefsen had already edited Bennett Miller's award-winning drama Capote in 2005 , it was Miller's follow-up film Die Kunst to win - Moneyball , for which he received an Oscar nomination for Best Editing for the first time .
