action

The frustrated New York psychiatrist Ben Sobel has a new patient, the mobster and gang boss of the mafia Paul Vitti. At first he refuses to treat Vitti, but he does not let up. He travels to Florida after the doctor and drags him out of his hotel just to tell him about his erectile problems . Sobel's wedding to Laura is canceled when not far away Vitti throws a killer from the window of his hotel room, which a competing mafioso has targeted Vitti.

Vitti's partners are concerned that he might entrust the secrets of the US Mafia to a doctor; Vitti, on the other hand, threatens to kill anyone who harms Sobel.

Since the FBI wants to get incriminating material, the intercepted words of Vittis are manipulatively cut together, so that an announcement becomes Vittis to kill Sobel. The doctor is offered leniency protection . But he is dragged straight from his repeated wedding to a meeting at which he should represent the absent Vitti. Only later does Vitti appear and announce that he will withdraw from the illegal activities. There is a shootout in which Sobel is injured. The FBI storms the meeting, Vitti is arrested. Later in prison he asked the doctor for more therapy sessions.
