Max Casella
Max Casella (born June 6, 1967 in Washington, DC , United States ) is an American actor . He is known to a wider audience for his roles in television series as Benny Fazio in The Sopranos and as Vinnie Delpino in Doogie Howser, MD (97 episodes, 1989-1993). He also lent the character Daxter in the video game series Jak and Daxter (2001-2009) in the US original version.
life and career
Casella was in Washington, DC , the son of newspaper columnists David Deitch and the social worker born Doris Casella. He is of Italian and Jewish descent, grew up in Cambridge and attended school there.
From 1989 to 1993 he played the character Vinnie Delpino in 97 episodes of the television series Doogie Howser, MD . In 1992 he starred as Racetrack Higgins in the film Newsies . This film is based on the true story of the newspaper boy strikes against Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst in New York City in 1899 . In 1994 he played the actor Paul Marco in Tim Burton's tragicomedy Ed Wood . In 1996 he played the role of the soldier Dino Paparelli in the film Always Trouble with Sergeant Bilko . In 1997 he starred in the Broadway - Musical The Lion King by Elton John and Tim Rice the role of Timon. For this role he received the 1998 Theater World Award and a nomination for the Drama Desk Award . In 1999 he played the character of Nicky Shivers in the movie Reine Nervensache with Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal in the leading roles.
From 2000 to 2001 he returned to Broadway and played the role of Marcellus Washburn in the new production of The Music Man . From 2001 to 2007 he can be seen in 29 episodes of the television series The Sopranos as Benny Fazio. In 2008 he played the character Mack Steiner in A tempting game . In 2009 he was one of the leading actors and producers of the film Scaring the Fish . In 2010, he played the role of Leo D'Alessio in seven episodes in the television series Boardwalk Empire .
Casella is married and lives in New York City with two children.
