action

The stressed civil engineer Doug Kinney complains about the constant lack of time. The scientist Leeds offers to clone Kinney so that his clone can take on part of the obligations. Doug agrees and can henceforth enjoy free time while his clone runs the construction company.

A little later, Doug Kinney lets himself be cloned again because he is allowed to spend more time with the family, but ultimately still cannot find time for himself. The second clone takes over the father's job.

Without Doug's knowledge, the second clone can be cloned again and this "copy of a copy" has remained mentally behind. The annoyed Doug tries to organize the coexistence of the clones by rules. In particular, the clones are prohibited from having sex with Doug's wife Laura. She doesn't know about the clones; the four men try not to show themselves to Laura at the same time. Doug manages to win back the love of his wife by expanding the house with the help of his clones. After Laura meets all three clones one after the other within a very short time and has sex with each of them, Doug and his clones fight. The clones realize that Doug doesn't need them anymore and leave town. Doug later receives a postcard from the clones who have successfully settled in Florida and run a pizza place.
