Pembroke J. Herring

Pembroke Jones Herring (born April 15, 1930 ) is an American film editor who was nominated three times for an Oscar .

Life

Pembroke Jones Herring was born to William Pugh Herring and Amelia Jones. He is the father of editor Craig Herring .

Herring's career in film editing began in 1966 with the western series Daniel Boone , for which he edited eight episodes until 1968. After that, he mainly worked on comedies such as Die Schrillen Vier auf Fahrt , Prosecutors You Don't Kiss and And Groundhog Greetings Every Day . However, there were three dramas, namely Torah! Torah! Torah! , This country is my country and Beyond Africa , for each of which he received an Oscar nomination for Best Editing .

Directors, with whom he has worked several times, are Harold Ramis and Sidney Poitier . Herring last appeared in 1996 as a film editor.
