Adolf Springer (architect)
Adolf Springer (born September 5, 1886 in Strehlen , † September 20, 1978 in Hanover ) was a German architect.
Life
Born in Silesia at the time of the German Empire , Adolf Springer spends his apprenticeship and training time in Hanover, including in the office of the architect Wilhelm Mackensen .
In the middle of World War I , Springer became a member of the Hannoversche Bauhütte in 1917 .
At the time of the Weimar Republic , Springer joined the Association of German Architects (BDA) and, after the Nazi era and the air raids on Hanover in World War II , was one of the re-founders of the BDA under the British military authorities in 1946, which later - 1967 - appointed honorary member.
Moreover Adolf Springer served as a member of the competition - Committee of the BDA and the building committee of the state capital Hanover.

In addition to various residential buildings, including on Altenbekener Damm and in Döhren and Linden , Adolf Springer also created the following buildings:
- 1921, together with Wilhelm Mackensen and Fritz Torno : Commerzbank building , Theaterstraße 11/12 ;
- 1927–1930, together with Alexander Kölliker and Wilhelm Fricke : various buildings in the garden city of Kleefeld ;
- 1929, together with Alexander Kölliker: World Games (canceled in 1994), Georgstraße at the corner of Kleine Packhofstraße ;
- 1929, later again in 1949: Palast-Lichtspiele , Bahnhofstrasse 5 ;
- 1935: Administration building in neoclassical style for the technology wholesaler JH Lerch , Planckstrasse 2/3 , later the seat of the Lower Saxony State Chancellery ;
- 1935–1936: Ernst-Grote-Haus , Breite Strasse, Hanover
- 1936: Maschsee restaurant on the north bank of the Maschsee , demolished in 1970;
- 1950: Reconstruction of the Niedersachsenhalle ;
- 1955, together with Friedel Steinmeyer : Thuringia -Haus, Friedrichswall 10 (broken off in 1998);
- 1958: House Stallmach , Georgstrasse at the corner of Limburgstrasse (the building was changed in 1999).
